Silk Stockings is a 1957 MGM musical film remake of Ninotchka. It was directed by Rouben Mamoulian and starred Fred Astaire and Cyd Charisse. The supporting cast included Janis Paige, Peter Lorre, Jules Munshin, and George Tobias repeating his Broadway role. It received Golden Globe Award nominations for Best Film and Best Actress (Charisse) in the Comedy/Musical category. The score was embellished with the song The Ritz Roll and Rock, a parody of the then-emerging rock and roll genre. The number ends with Astaire symbolically smashing his top hat, considered one of his trademarks, signaling his retirement from movie musicals, which he announced following the films release. |
Movie producer Steve Canfield (Fred Astaire) wants Russian composer Peter Illyich Boroff (Wim Sonneveld) to write music for his next picture. However, Comrades Brankov (Peter Lorre), Bibinski (Jules Munshin) and Ivanov (Joseph Buloff), have been sent by Moscow to take Boroff back. | |

Michel is one of our established stockings and classy ladies connoisseurs.
Michel found a link to Stocking Dating from another website. Michel enjoys
Stockings Dating but would like to see more local ladies from the
Netherland.
Michel is Interested in feminine classy ladies who still dress feminine with
dresses, skirts, lingerie, stockings and heels.
\'In my country you don\'t see this kind of ladies any more at least not
singles.. So therefore I became a member here.
Thinking that perhaps I could

Admit it when Mrs. Robinson pulled on her stockings in The
Graduate, you raised an intrigued eyebrow.
Hosiery may not have the same blunt sex appeal as a pushup bra, but there’s an
undeniable appeal to a garment that helps flaunt a woman’s gams. Here are five
fun stocking facts to wrap your legs around:
* In World War II, nylon was scarce, as the military needed
large quantities of it to make tents and repair parachutes. So how did savvy
dames keep their legs stylish? Many darkened and drew black lines down the backs
of their bare legs to mimic the look of stockings. It was a great
strategy unless you found yourself in the middle of a heat wave.
* In 2006, the NBA decided to ban tights, agitating players
that included LeBron James and Kobe Bryant, who wore them underneath their
shorts for extra support.
* Stockings worn over the face have been popular accessories
for successful bank robbers, and in 2004 an aspiring Illinois bank robber hoped
to join their ranks. But he made the mistake of approaching a buzz-in bank door
with a stocking already pulled over his face. Unsurprisingly, bank employees
didn’t let him in.
* When Tim Curry took the role as Dr. Frankenfurter in The
Rocky Horror Picture Show, he thought he’d
be wearing a lab coat. Not so much Curry’s character was in fishnets for nearly
the entire film.
* Joe Namath may be synonymous with football, but in 1974
people associated him with something else: Beauty Mist Pantyhose. But don’t
scoff becoming the company’s TV spokesperson earned major points with female
fans. Business Week wrote, Namath is
arguably more famous for his panty-hose endorsement than for winning the Super
Bowl. And really, who’s to say
which is the greater accomplishment? | |

Fishnets with stilettos and a mini skirt have a look that many consider sexy, but others might think is trashy, so proceed with caution.
A safer bet is super-sexy fishnets with tall boots and a skirt that cut knee-length or shorter.

This months competiton is in a continental theme and moved away from our conventional stockings quiz.
When the French Revolution started, in the late 1700s, the practice of wearing heels drew to a close, as what term (expression) and had became synonymous with opulent wealth, and could incur the ire of the public at large.
Last months competition was won by Richard65. However it was also won by our delightful friends from accross the pond ff38dd. Because ff38dd had won Decembers competiton and awarded their winnings most generously to the Lion\'s Club charity, they admirably declined last months prize.
